This is a 2-day training. Participants must attend both days. Teaching Social Skills in schools is based on proven interventions from the Boys Town Education Model that brings structure and consistency to direct social skills training within your PBIS framework. Join us for a 2-day training focused on how to identify appropriate social skills to teach students regardless of your role in the school, or the difficulty of the student.

  • Learn how to create and maintain safe environments
  • Discover the correlations between student behavior and academic performance
  • Discuss researched and proven components of efficient classroom management
  • Acquire behavior management techniques, including observation and preparation, that will help prevent disruption and maintain a culture of calm.
  • Gain tools to correct inappropriate behavior immediately and understand the effectiveness of using praise more often than correction to shape behavior.
  • Identify when and how to teach basic social skills, including following instructions, disagreeing appropriately, accepting criticism/consequences, talking with others, showing respect, accepting "No" for an answer, introducing yourself and showing sensitivity to others.
